What services are available?

We’ve increased the number of services available at Post Office outlets across Northern Ireland, so banking with us is even easier.

The table below shows which of our services are available through the Post Office as well as the transaction limits and timescales.

Check your balance

All you need is your Ulster Bank debit card and to remember your PIN number.

Withdraw cash

What do you need?

  • Your Ulster Bank debit card
  • Your PIN number

Limits

Up to a maximum of £300 per day or the value of your card limit - whichever is lower.

(Subject to sufficient available funds in the account)

 

Timescales

Instant

 

Cash pay in

What do you need?

  • Pre printed paying in slip
  • Your PIN number

Limits

Coin deposits must not exceed £250.

 

Timescales

Subject to Post Office outlet cut off times, cash paid in through the Post Office will be added to an Ulster Bank account 1 working day after paying in.

Cheque pay in

What do you need?

  • Cheque to be paid in
  • Pre printed paying in slip
  • Ulster Bank branded Post Office cheque deposit envelope(s) available at the Post Office counter

Please note that cheques and cash cannot be mixed when carrying out a 'Paying in cheques

 

Limits

  • You will need a pre printed paying in slip for every cheque deposit envelope used
  • There are no limits to the number of cheques that can be deposited
  • Multiple envelopes may be required depending on the size and/or number of cheques being paid in.

 

Timescales

Subject to Post Office outlet cut off times, cheques paid in through the Post Office will be added to an Ulster Bank account 2 working days after paying in.

What do I need to know?

  • The level of service may differ at each Post Office
  • Each Post Office is subject to individual cut off times 
  • Cash paid in through the Post Office will be added to your Ulster Bank account 1 working day after paying-in
  • Cheques paid in through the Post Office will be added to your Ulster Bank account 2 working days after paying-in
  • When using the Post Office to pay in, cash and cheques cannot be mixed in the same transaction. Separate paying-in slips are required
  • Ulster Bank personal customers will not be charged for using Post Office services.
