Ulster Bank is committed to a supportive work environment, where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential and bring their best selves to work.
Our internal employee led networks are very active in driving our inclusion agenda. With the support of the Bank wide networks we have established a number of local branches of these networks. Our RBS Women network runs a regular programme of events involving colleagues, customers and our wider communities. Our Rainbow LGBTQ+ Network also runs a regular calendar of internal and external events collaborating with the other employee led networks. We have participated in Belfast Pride for the last 3 years and in 2018 were delighted to sign the Businesses for Love Equality letter calling for marriage equality in Northern Ireland and host the launch event for this.
Additionally, Ulster Bank in Northern Ireland has been active in supporting the implementation of the recommendations from the Rose Review into Female Entrepreneurship.
Our progress in advancing the inclusion agenda in the Bank has been recognised externally with Ulster Bank Northern Ireland having been shortlisted in a number of categories in the Legal Island Diversity awards two years running. We have also been shortlisted in the GNI Awards for Best Financial Services provider and in 2018 one of our colleagues won the LGBT Ally of the Year at these awards. Furthermore, we have achieved the Diversity Charter Mark Bronze status for two years running and are now actively working towards Silver status.
