What you need to open a bank account

We try to verify your details electronically, but sometimes we need to see physical proof. We will be in touch within 48 hours if we require any further information from you.

We can verify both your identity and address using a full Northern Ireland/UK/Republic of Ireland driving licence or provisional licence

Don't have a driving licence? We'll need to see two separate documents to verify your identity and address, such as a passport and a bank statement or utility bill.

If you requested an overdraft we may also need to see a payslip and 3 month's bank statements.

If you don't have these documents, don't worry, there are other forms of ID and address verification that we can accept.
