Android Pay™

Android Pay is the new way to pay with your Ulster Bank debit card or Mastercard credit card 

You can tap and pay with your Android device just like you can with your contactless card. Its easy to set up and safe and secure.

Available on Android devices running Android 4.4 (KitKat®) or higher and Ulster Bank current account holders.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay is the new, easy and secure way to pay using your Ulster Bank debit or Mastercard credit card.

Use Apple Pay in store (iPhone 6 or Apple Watch) and within apps (iPhone 6, iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 3).

Apple Pay is available on selected current accounts and Ulster Bank Mastercard credit cards.

Easy ways for you to pay and receive money

Make small payments securely without needing a card reader

Need to send money to someone quickly? Now you can make payments safely and quickly with our mobile app.

No card reader needed!

Pay someone you have never paid before up to £250 without using a card reader

 

There is no need to log into Anytime Internet Banking or find your card reader, simply open your mobile app and head to the Payments option on one of your accounts. You will see the option to 'Pay Someone New' at the top of the screen which you can use to send money to any UK sort code and account number.

 

Important Information

  • You must be aged over 16 and have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility)
  • There is a maximum limit of £250 payments per working day which is seperate from daily withdrawal and Get Cash limits. You can make up to 5 payments per working day.

This feature is available on Android, Windows and iPhone devices.

 

You can use Pay Someone New as soon as you activate your app for the service. You can find out how to do this on our 'getting started' page.

 

 

 

Send money instantly to your saved Anytime Internet Banking payee's

 

Simply visit the 'Payments' option on one of your accounts, scroll through the names to select the correct payee and just enter in the amount. After that all you have to do is click 'Send' and the money will leave your account instantly!

 

Please note that in order to send a payment in this way with your mobile app you will need to have made the first payment to this payee through Anytime Internet Banking first, which will involve using your card reader.

 

This feature is available on Android, iPhone and Windows devices.

Send money using somone's mobile number

Don't have someone's bank details? Don't worry, you may be able to send money to them via their mobile number.

Pay Your Contacts is really handy when you need to pay someone quickly and you don't have their account details.

 

How does Pay Your Contacts work?

 

You can pay anyone who is Paym registered or if they have the Ulster Bank NI, NatWest or Royal Bank of Scotland mobile banking app using just their mobile number.

 

  • Simply open your mobile app and choose the account you wish to debit
  • Click on the 'Pay Your Contacts' option
  • Enter in the mobile number you wish to send the money to or choose someone from your phones contacts
  • Enter in a message you wish to send to the payee, enter then amount and hit 'Make payment'.

 

Important Information

Pay your contacts lets you send money to anyone with a UK or international mobile number in specific countries, who has an Ulster Bank NI, NatWest or Royal Bank of Scotland mobile app, or is registered for Paym. Register for Paym and receive money via your mobile number

Now it's easy for friends to send you money - even if they're with a different bank.

How does it work?

 

Paym is a service that's available to customers of most of the UK's leading banks and building societies.

 

To use Paym you need to register using the latest version of the Mobile Banking app. Open the app and select Paym from the Payment services option in the 'More' menu. You’ll find all the registration details there.

 

Paym is available on most personal accounts and the list of eligible accounts will show during the registration process. When registering you need to select the account in which you wish to receive payments.

 

After you’ve registered, your friends just need to use their bank’s own mobile app to send you money using Paym.

 

They don’t need to know your account number or sort code. All they need is your name and mobile phone number and they’ll be able to send money to your account.

 

Paym is available on Android, iPhone and Windows.

Pay your credit card directly from the mobile app

Nobody likes paying bills, but when it comes to paying your Ulster Bank credit card we want to make it as easy as possible.

Paying your Ulster Bank credit card is simple with our Mobile Banking app.

 

  • Simply log in to your app 
  • Select your credit card from the list of accounts 
  • Select 'Pay credit card'
  • Choose to pay the minimum balance, the full statement balance or another amount of your choice
  • Check and confirm the payment details.

The payment will reach the requested account within 2 hours however it may take longer to appear on your credit card account. You can find more help for credit cards in our Support Centre.

Pay your bills from within the app without needing a card reader

Select 'Pay Someone New' from the Payments option in our mobile app and you will be able to type the name of the company you wish to pay.

Make bill payments on the go without having to log into Anytime Internet Banking... just another way Mobile Banking makes managing your finances easy.

 

How do you make bill payments with the mobile app?

 

Our Mobile Banking app contains a list of the most popular and frequently used utility, local authority and credit card companies.

Simply open your mobile app and:

 

  • Select the account you wish to debit, click 'Payments' and choose to 'Pay Someone New'
  • Start typing the name of the company you wish to pay and select the correct company from the drop-down list
  • Add a reference and an amount, then confirm your instruction
  • Payments are normally received within 2 hours once confirmed

 

Important Information

The payment details will not be saved. You must be aged 16 or over and have available funds to send from your account (including any overdraft facility). Limits apply, the app will notify you of the limit once you have selected the company you wish to pay.

Stay on top of your standing orders and Direct Debits

Set up, amend and cancel your standing orders and Direct Debits.

With our mobile app you can:

 

  • Set up new standing orders to your saved online banking payee's, to move money between your own accounts or to a set list of companies without having to log in to online banking
  • Amend the name, date, reference or amount of your existing standing orders
  • View the status of your direct debits and standing orders to keep an eye on the next payment date
  • Cancel your Direct Debits or standing orders without having to ring or visit us.

 

Important Information

  • To cancel your standing order from within the mobile app you must give two working days notice.
  • To amend your standing order from within the mobile app you must give two working days notice.
  • To cancel a Direct Debit from within your mobile app you have up until 8.20pm (UK time) on the day the payment is due to be taken from your account. At or after 8.20pm (UK time) the payment due on that day will have been taken and we will not have been able to retrieve it.
