You can manually change the category of any transaction once it’s fully cleared to your account.
You must be aged 16+ and hold a Personal or Premier account to see the Spending tab in your mobile app. Spending is available for current and savings accounts. App available to customers with Anytime Banking using compatible iOS and Android devices and a UK or international mobile number in specific countries.
Spending is a handy feature that automatically places your personal account transactions into categories, so you can get a detailed picture of where your money goes each month. You could even set up a budget against each category, challenging yourself to save more.
You could spend less and save more by setting yourself a monthly budget. This feature lets you add a budget to your Spending categories within our app, so you are in control of what you spend and where.
Your transactions will be automatically sorted into one of our twelve categories, giving you a clearer picture of how you spend your money.

If you don't already have our mobile app, you'll need to download it to get started.
1. Log in to your Ulster Bank Mobile Banking app and tap Spending from the options along the bottom of the screen
2. Select which accounts you'd like to include in your Spending view and choose the date you'd like your month to start, for example your payday
3. Set up your categories for the transactions shown on screen
Congratulations, you will now be set up for Spending in your app.
