How do I inform you of a bereavement?

We know that coping with bereavement isn't easy and sorting out the financial affairs of someone you love can make it seem harder. Our dedicated Bereavement Services Team are here to help make things as easy as possible for you as a single point of contact for the bank.

Ways to get in touch with us

You can let us know about your bereavement by:

  • Calling our dedicated Bereavement Services Team on 0800 096 3612 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)
  • Writing to us at Ulster Bank Bereavement Services Team, Ulster Bank Ireland DAC, Stranmillis Road, Belfast BT9 5UB
  • Visiting your local branch

What we will require from you

When letting us know about your bereavement, you'll need to have some important documents to hand, such as:

  • Full name and last known address details of the deceased
  • Their Ulster Bank sort code and account number (we only need to see one, even if they had multiple accounts with us)
  • The original death certificate
  • The original will, if one exists. Please note that proof of ID and Address of all executor(s) will be required before we can close the accounts held by the deceased.
  • Your proof of ID and address
  • The final funeral bill
